About Me

allow me to introduce myself...

I’m Sydney, I figured before I start blogging I should tell my readers a little bit more about myself.  While ballet is always my number one and yes, I’m a total bun head, I also love to read, write, listen to music (I do get my daily fix of classical here and there..of course), watch movies, drink coffee, and what can I say, I'm a bit of a foodie but that’s expected from a chef’s daughter right?  I am a huge family girl, there’s nothing I love more than spending time with my mom, dad, and little brother Kiernan (KJ for short).  I have two Boston Terriers, basically the loves of my life one’s name is Rachel (funny name for a dog, I know) and the other is Olive, she’s only a few months old.

As a kid I was always center of attention, always had to put on a show for my friends or my family.  My parents didn't have to think twice before putting me in ballet, I also started getting into acting, swimming, and gymnastics and grew great passions for each and every one. Soon it came time for me to only choose one, after a couple of years it was clear to me that ballet became my true love.  This is when I left public school to start online homeschool into Year 8, to put 1,000% of my attention, focus, and effort into ballet.  With this extra time I could train more hours but also going at my own pace with school, to have a flexible schedule for when I traveled or if I wanted to fly through a lesson or assignment or if I was too tired to even lift my finger to open my computer.

I competed at the Youth America Grand Prix and the World Ballet Competition from age 10-15 under my coach of 6 years, Miguel Campaneria, whom I trained with up until I got hired back in 2016.  I had never really gone away to summer intensives, except for the Rock School 2013 and the Sarasota Cuban Ballet School 2015 where I met my partner, Austin.  Miguel was invited as a guest teacher in Sarasota and recruited Austin to his newly opening school, we became partners that year and soon began dating in December.  Now, I am 19 years old and Austin and I are both Company Members with the Pennsylvania Ballet and I'm absolutely tickled to share with you my adventures, experiences, tips, or even just a little inspiration.
